Volunteers who donate their time, expertise, knowledge, and resources are essential to our continued success.
There are many full- and part-time positions available for those who work in the medical and clerical fields, as well as opportunities for volunteers who may only be able to commit to work limited days during the month. Individual orientation is provided to all volunteers.

• Primary Care Physicians and Mid-Level Providers
Position Requirements: Physicians must have a license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina in a Primary Care specialty. Mid-Level Providers (PAs, NPs, etc.) must have active experience in primary medicine and have a supervising physician.
• Nursing/Clinical Volunteers
Position Requirements: RNs, LPNs, MAs, or nursing students must have clinical experience. Active licensure as an RN or LPN is not required.
• Medical Records Clerks
Position Requirements: Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
• Spanish Translators
Position Requirements: Approximately 60% of the clinic’s patients speak Spanish as their primary language. Volunteers assist patients fill out clinic forms and translate for the patients, when needed, during treatment. No formal training is required.
• Clerical and Administrative Volunteers
Position Requirements: Assist with front desk admissions, reception, filing, phone calls, etc. No formal training is required.

Our services are 100% free to those who qualify. Contributions are voluntary, and not required.

First time patients must complete an eligibility form and a medical history form.
Q: What languages are spoken at the clinic?
English & Spanish. We provide interpreters on site. Please let us know when you make your appointment or at the start of your visit if you'd like a Spanish translator present.
Q: Does the clinic work with any other medical facilities or resources?
The clinic refers patients to both the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital and Angel Medical Center, as well as other non-profits that provide services to the same demographic. These include but are not limited to dental clinics, food pantries, and other resources available to those in need, such as the SNAP program and referrals to county health and social services departments.
